LA House
LA House
LA House is a modern home designed in a tropical context with many heat tackling strategies. The west facing frontage was treated to a ventilated double brick facade, dramatically cutting down the heat ingress into the rooms taking shelter behind. The open riser stairs act as a ventilation stack, drawing the hot air through the stair well up through the ventilation slats between the split roof. This encourages air movement through the house which keeps it cool and naturally ventilated throughout the year.
